October 31, 2021 by Amy Gold

During the week of October 24, 2021, The Beatles' 1970 album, "Let It Be," made a return to the Billboard 200 at No. 5 in the wake of its deluxe special edition reissue earlier this month. In addition, this classic reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top Album Sales, Catalog Albums, Soundtracks, and Tastemaker Albums charts. Upon its original release, "Let It Be" topped the Billboard 200 and is one of a record-setting 19 No. 1 albums on this chart for the Fab Four.

Also that week, Ringo Starr released a music video for his cover of Bill Haley & His Comets' "Rock Around The Clock," which is included on his new EP, "Change The World." Featured performers also include Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh.

Led Zeppelin announced that they will make their entire catalog on TikTok available to users on that social media platform. Their works include such classics as "Whole Lotta Love," "Stairway To Heaven," "Immigrant Song," "Black Dog," and "Kashmir." The hard rock legends' offerings also include artwork and graphics plus live performance clips and other videos.

Also that week, Lifetime announced two upcoming holiday movies featuring oldies artists. Smokey Robinson will co-star and perform in "Miracle In Motor City," to premiere on November 28, 2021. Marie Osmond will return to Lifetime in her second yuletide movie, "A Fiance For Christmas," to air December 9.

Finally, October 24, 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of the release of Don McLean's classic "American Pie" and same-named album. "American Pie" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks in early 1972, and the album also spent seven weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 at around that time. The album also includes another hit, "Vincent," which made the Top 20 that same year.
