During the week of August 21, 2022, Joni Mitchell received an honorary doctorate from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston at an event held August 23 in Santa Monica, CA. Berklee President Erica Muhl spoke of the legendary singer-songwriter's wide-ranging influence. "We at Berklee are simply joining the whole world in celebrating Joni Mitchell's impact on music and women everywhere, and on anyone who was forever changed after their first experience with her music - which, let's face it, is pretty much all of us."

An official music video for The Rolling Stones' 1967 U.K. single, "We Love You," premiered August 26 on the ABKCO label's YouTube channel. This historic clip includes references to the legal problems the band was facing at the time, in particular, the February 1967 arrest of Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, and Jagger's then-girlfriend, singer/actress Marianne Faithfull at Richards' home in Sussex for drug-related charges.

Also that week, Elton John's beloved 1970 soft rock classic, "Your Song," was named by, a website that serves as a consumer's guide to mattresses, pillows, and beds, as rock music's most sleep-inducing song in a study that compared some 1,700 popular tunes covering many genres. Other top-ranking songs by veteran bands and artists included Led Zeppelin's "Going To California" (#2), The Beatles' "Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight" (#4), Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" (#5), Jackson Browne's "The Load-Out" (#6), Lou Reed's "Walk On The Wild Side" (#7), The Police's "Every Breath You Take" (#8), The Eagles' "Desperado" (#9), and John Lennon's "Imagine" (#10).
