During the week of December 26, 2021, Elton John's latest holiday single, "Merry Christmas," performed as a duet with Ed Sheeran, topped Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart, making this his 17th record-extending entry in that tally. The English pop rock legend also has a record-breaking span as a leader on that chart that began in 1973 with his first chart-topper, "Daniel."
