During the week of February 6, 2022, Earth, Wind & Fire was honored at the Pollstar Awards hosted by the same-named concert industry publication. The group's Miraculous Supernatural Tour was awarded the Best R&B Tour prize, which celebrated the return of live music in 2021 in the midst of the pandemic.

Also that week, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Van Morrison is among the nominees in the Oscar's Best Original Song category for "Down To Joy" from the soundtrack to the recently-released "Belfast." The 2022 Academy Awards ceremonies will air live March 27 on ABC.

Chicago and The Zombies are among a number of veteran acts to take part in F-COVID, a new charity initiative that seeks to raise money for musicians and music industry professionals who continue to be impacted by the pandemic. The campaign is raffling off a number of prizes that include a guitar autographed by Chicago and two tickets to an upcoming U.S. show by the band, plus two tickets to one of The Zombies' 2022 concerts. Also that week, ABC announced the premiere of "Summer Of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised)" to air February 20, 2022. This Oscar-nominated documentary covers the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival that took place in New York City over a six-week periods and featured such top performers as The 5th Dimension, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Sly & The Family Stone, The Staple Singers, and Stevie Wonder.

Finally, various Beatles memorabilia from the personal collection of Julian Lennon went for almost $160 million at a recent sale organized by Julien's Auctions. Items included Paul McCartney's handwritten studio notes for "Hey Jude" and three guitars given to Julian by his father, John Lennon.
