During the week of June 12, 2022, The Isley Brothers, Steve Miller, and Motown producer William "Mickey" Stevenson were among this year's inductees into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Other honorees included Paul Williams who received the prestigious Johnny Mercer Award. The awards ceremonies took place June 17 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.

Also that week, Paul McCartney celebrated his 80th birthday on June 18 after wrapping up the first leg of his Got Back Tour in East Rutherford, NJ two days before. Several events in his honor took place in his hometown of Liverpool that included tribute concerts, a sightseeing tour, and special performances at the ex-Beatle's childhood home.

Ringo Starr's first NFT collection sold for $127,360 on June 13 at an online sale hosted by Julian's Auctions. Titled "Ringo Starr NFT Collection - The Creative Mind Of A Beatle," this work features 20 NFTs based on five paintings by the legendary ex-Beatles drummer that include self-portraits and spin art pieces. Part of the proceeds will go to Starr's Lotus Foundation which supports various social welfare causes.

Finally, June 16, 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the original release of David Bowie's landmark concept album, "The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars." Also, Steve Miller Band's platinum-certified "Abracadabra," which includes the chart-topping title track along with "Cool Magic" and Give It Up," turned 40 on June 15.
