During the week of March 13, 2022, the Blues Hall of Fame announced its inductees for this year that include Johnnie Taylor, Little Willie John, and songwriter Otis Blackwell who penned such oldies classics as Elvis Presley's "Don't Be Cruel" and Jerry Lee Lewis' "Great Balls Of Fire." The awards ceremonies will take place May 4 at the Halloran Centre in Memphis, TN.

Also that week, it was announced that Dionne Warwick is among those who will be honored at the 10th annual She Rocks Awards to take place June 2, 2022 in Anaheim, CA and also livestreamed. For more info, visit SheRocksAwards.com.

Country legend Dolly Parton, who was among those nominated for induction into the Class of 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, announced that she is taking herself off the ballot and explained why: Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don't feel that I have earned that right. I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out. Parton did not rule out being nominated again in the future, however, and she also stated that recording a rock album has been a dream of hers.

Joni Mitchell will be honored at the 2022 MusiCares Person of the Year gala taking place April 1 at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, NV. Among the many artists to pay tribute in performance are Chaka Khan, Cyndi Lauper, Graham Nash, and Stephen Stills.

Rod Stewart is among the featured performers at the upcoming "AARP Celebrates You," a three-day virtual event to run March 24-26. Stewart's performance, to take place March 25, will features such classics as "Maggie May," "You're In My Heart," and "Have I Told You Lately." For more info, visit aarp.org.

Also that week, it was announced that "Elvis," a new musical biopic by Baz Luhrmann about the late King of Rock, will make its premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival taking place May 17-28 at the Palais des Festivals et des Congres convention center in Cannes, France. Starring Austin Butler in the title role and Tom Hanks as Presley's manager, Colonel Tom Parker, this movie will be released in the U.S. on June 24 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Finally, Rod Stewart posted a video on Instagram in which he is shoveling gravel with a road crew in an attempt to fill some long-neglected potholes along a road in Harlow, Essex, England that leads to his home. As the 77-year-old rock legend put it, My Ferrari can't get through. ... I'm repairing the street where I live, 'cause no one could be bothered to do it. ... People are bashing their cars up, and the other day, there was an ambulance with a burst tire.
