March 27, 2022 by Amy Gold

During the week of March 20, 2022, the Recording Academy announced that the music of Paul Simon will be celebrated at a Grammy tribute concert to be taped on April 6 at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood and aired on CBS sometime later this year. Among the many featured performers at "Homeward Bound: A GRAMMY Salute To The Songs Of Paul Simon" are Dave Matthews and New Orleans legend Irma Thomas, and Simon himself will also make an appearance at this event.

The producers for the documentary series, "The Beatles: Get Back," were among the honorees at the 33rd annual Producers Guild Awards which took place on March 19, 2022 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Members of the production team included Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr along with Yoko Ono, Olivia Harrison, and director Peter Jackson. "The Beatles: Get Back," which premiered last November on Disney+, focuses on the January 1969 recording sessions for "Let It Be" and the band's historic surprise rooftop concert in London.

Also that week, Tucson, AZ Mayor Regina Romero announced that the city's TCC Music Hall will be renamed in honor of Linda Ronstadt. The renaming ceremony will take place on May 7, 2022 during the 40th Annual International Mariachi Conference Espectacular Concert. The pop/rock legend and Tucson native, who was forced to retire in 2011 due to progressive supranuclear palsy which left her unable to sing, is an 11-time Grammy winner, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, and the recipient of numerous other awards and accolades.
