During the week of March 27, 2022, the Memphis Music Hall Of Fame announced its new class of inductees for 2022. Among the honorees are Mavis Staples and Booker T. Jones of Booker T. & The MG's.

Also that week, it was announced that Billy Joel, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, and Ozzy Osbourne are among the many artists to participate in the upcoming "Stand Up for Ukraine" social media movement taking place on April 8, 2022. Organized by Global Citizen, this event's main objective is to mobilize people worldwide to call on world leaders to commit billions of dollars to aid Ukrainian refugees.

A new song co-written and recorded by Mick Jagger titled "Strange Game" will serve as the theme to the new Apple TV+ spy thriller series, "Slow Horses." This show, which premiered on April 1, 2022, is based on the same-named novel by Mick Herron.

Also that week, it was announced that "ABBA: The Movie" will be shown on May 12 and May 14, 2022 at over 400 theaters across the U.S. and Canada. This concert film, which stars all four band members, captures ABBA's 1977 tour of Australia. For more info and tickets, visit ABBAMovie.com.

Finally, James Alexander, the founding bassist and last surviving member of The Bar-Kays, will have a street renamed after him in his hometown of Memphis, TN. Located near Stax Records where the famed soul-funk band recorded, the city's Stafford Ave. will get its new name on April 24, 2022: James E. Alexander Ave.
