March 13, 2022 by Amy Gold

During the week of March 6, 2022, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its first-ever Beatles exhibit which opens March 18 and runs through November 2022. Titled "The Beatles - Get Back To Let It Be," this upcoming exhibit will feature original instruments, clothing, and other items as seen in the November 2021 docuseries, "The Beatles - Get Back."

Also that week, it was announced that the Billy Joel Foundation will donate $250,000 to BStrong, a charity that provides aid to Ukrainian refugees at the Ukraine/Poland border. The money will go toward such essentials as survival supply kits, transportation, food, and shelter.

Pink Floyd removed its entire music catalog from digital music services in Russia and Belarus in protest of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Also, Deep Purple became among a growing number of bands and artists to cancel concerts in Russia and Ukraine. The veteran rock band posted messages on its official website and social media pages condemning Russian military atrocities and calling for Russian citizens to protest en masse.

Finally, a new Billy Joel biopic titled "Piano Man" that will focus on his early career is in the works. Adam Ripp, whose father Artie signed Joel to his first record contract, is set to direct and write the film.
