During the week of May 8, 2022, Ringo Starr was presented with an honorary doctorate by Boston's Berklee College of Music as part of the school's 2022 commencement ceremonies. The ex-Beatle accepted the honor virtually via a pre-recorded video.

Also that week, "The Beatles: Get Back" documentary series, which premiered in November 2021 on Disney+, received a nomination for the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards Best Music Documentary. Mavis Staple is among those to be honored at the 20th anniversary benefit for the Little Kids Rock charity to take place May 17, 2022 at New York City's Terminal 5. The R&B legend will be presented with the Peace & Freedom Award.

Also that week, Bob Dylan's music catalog from his contributions to The Traveling Wilburys was acquired by Primary Wave. Best known for the 1988 hit, "Handle with Care," this supergroup, whose members also consisted of George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty, released two eponymous albums in 1988 and 1990, plus the 2007 box set, "The Traveling Wilburys Collection." Dylan co-wrote all of the group's original songs along with the other group members.
