During the week of October 2, 2022, it was announced that Jefferson Airplane will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The awards ceremonies will take place October 13, and Jack Casady, Jorma Kaukonen, and Grace Slick, who were part of the classic late 1960s lineup, will be on hand to accept the honor. The plaque will be located at 6752 Hollywood Blvd.

Also that week, Pink Floyd's critically-acclaimed 1977 concept album, "Animals," made a return to the Top 10 on Billboard's Top Album Sales Chart following its recent reissue.

A new interactive exhibition celebrating the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers who have performed at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville over the years will open on November 2 as part of a multiyear partnership between the historic venue and Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The exhibit includes various memorabilia by such artists as James Brown, The Byrds, Eric Clapton, Roger Daltrey of The Who, and Joni Mitchell. For more info and tickets, visit Ryman.com.

Ringo Starr has put his ongoing tour with his All Starr Band on hold because of recently contracting Covid-19. His representative notes that he hopes to resume as soon as possible and is recovering at home. As always, he and the All Starrs send peace and love to their fans and hope to see them back out on the road soon.

October 5, 2022 marks the 60th anniversary of the release of The Beatles' first U.K. single, "Love Me Do." The band first recorded this oldies classic on June 6, 1962 at London's EMI Studios (later Abbey Road Studios) before Ringo Starr replaced original drummer Pete Best. A second version was recorded three months later with Starr which was used for the original Parlophone single. A third version with Andy White as drummer, with Starr playing the tambourine, was included on the band's "Please Please Me" album and on the 1964 Tollie single that became a hit in the U.S.

Finally, just in time for Halloween, Ozzy "Prince of Darkness" Osbourne announced a new makeup line created in partnership with Rock & Roll Beauty to be sold in Ulta Beauty stores and via Ulta.com. This one-of-a-kind collection includes assorted eye shadows with such names as "Crazy Train," "No More Tears," and "Paranoid," as well as lipsticks and other cosmetics along with a gothic mirror.
