During the week of January 15, 2023, the world bade a final farewell to legendary rock icon David Crosby (August 14, 1941 - January 18, 2023).
Also that week, the Recording Academy announced that The Beach Boys will be honored in concert at the 2023 Grammy Salute to take place February 8 in Hollywood at the Dolby Theatre. This event will be taped and later broadcast on CBS.
Smokey Robinson and Motown founder Berry Gordy will also be honored by the Recording Academy during Grammy week as this year's MusiCares Persons of the Year. The awards ceremonies will take place February 3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, with featured performers to include The Four Tops, The Isley Brothers, The Temptations, and Dionne Warwick.
Finally, The Rolling Stones recently joined TikTok and posted their first videos. Fans on this platform can now access the band's full catalog, and they can also create covers and remixes using songs available on the TikTok Sounds Page. In addition, Mick Jagger announced plans to launch his own TikTok page, making him the second band member to do so after Keith Richards who joined last year.
