Dion DiMucci, Yes, and The Doors' Robby Krieger and the late Ray Manzarek's estate became the latest of many veteran bands and artists to sell their music catalogs within the past several years. Best known for such oldies favorites as "Runaround Sue" and "The Wanderer," Dion sold the rights to his publishing catalog and future works to Reservoir Media. Members of Yes made a deal with Warner Music Group to sell the rights to their music and income streams for recordings on Atlantic Records that include such classic albums as "Fragile" and "Close To The Edge." Krieger and Manzarek's estate both sold their interests in The Doors' catalog to Primary Wave Music, including the band's recordings, trademarks, merchandise rights, and income.

Also that week, AXS TV announced the network premiere of "When You're Strange," a documentary about The Doors narrated by Johnny Depp. This award-winning film, which features historic and previously-unseen footage of the band, will air February 1, 2023.

Finally, Cher penned an op-ed for Newsweek with Eric Esrailian titled "You Cannot Erase Us" calling for the U.S. government to come to the aid of Armenians who are under attack by Azerbaijan. Cher and Esrailian have also teamed up with Metal Alchemy to create and sell bracelets to raise money towards restoring Armenian holy sites. Of Armenian descent, the veteran pop legend was born Cherilyn Sarkisian in El Centro, CA, later shortening her name as she became famous.
