During the week of July 23, 2023, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution declaring August 3 as Tony Bennett Day in honor of the late jazz and traditional pop legend born on this day in 1926. In addition to his spectacular eight-decades-long music career, Senate Majority Chuck Schumer also cited Bennett's service in World War II as well as his lifelong dedication to civil rights, equality, and various other social and humanitarian causes.

Also that week, Dolly Parton released a video for her cover of Queen's "We Are The Champions/We Will Rock You" that will be used to promote the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. The country legend also announced a possible appearance at this upcoming event.
