Al Jarreau (March 12, 1940 - February 12, 2017, b. Alwin Lopez Jarreau) was a multi-Grammy-winning R&B singer often incorporating jazz and pop elements who became famous during the 1980s. Best known for the smooth romantic ballad, "We're In This Love Together" (1981), a Top 10 R&B hit which made the Pop/Rock Top 20 and became his biggest crossover success, other major hits include "Breakin' Away" (1981), "Mornin'" (1983), "Boogie Down" (1983), and "Moonlighting" (1987), the latter of which is the title theme to the 1985-1989 comedy drama TV series starring Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis.
