Anita Baker (b. January 26, 1958) is a Grammy-winning R&B/jazz singer-songwriter and former lead vocalist of Chapter 8 who went solo beginning in the early 1980s. Her best known songs include the soulful romantic ballad, "Giving You The Best That I Got" (1988), which topped the R&B and Adult Contemporary charts and made the Pop/Rock Top 5.
