Arthur Godfrey (August 31, 1903 - March 16, 1983) was a hugely popular radio and TV broadcaster and entertainer known for his relaxed, informal style who, at the height of his fame in the 1950s, hosted several influential programs. As a recording artist, he had a long string of hits on the Pop charts from 1947-1952 that includes "Too Fat Polka (I Don't Want Her)(You Can Have Her)(She's Too Fat For Me)" (1947), "Slap 'Er Down, Agin, Paw ..." (1948), and "Dance Me Loose" (1951, with The Chordettes).
