The Assembled Multitude - Songs

ABOUT

The Assembled Multitude was an instrumental studio group with a rich orchestral sound that became famous during the early 1970s. They are best known for their majestic hit remake of The Who's "Overture From Tommy (A Rock Opera)" (1970).

Formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by producer Tom Sellers (d. March 9, 1988), the group released its eponymous debut album in 1970 on Atlantic Records along with several singles. In addition to "Overture From Tommy," which peaked at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the group's biggest hit, The Assembled Multitude also had minor hits with "Medley From 'Superstar' (A Rock Opera)" (1971) and their instrumental version of the Joni Mitchell-penned "Woodstock" (1970).
