Benny Goodman (May 30, 1909 - June 13, 1986) was a celebrated and influential jazz clarinetist and bandleader and a key figure during the swing era who became famous beginning in the mid 1930s. His long string of hits from 1931-1956 includes such chart-toppers as "Moon Glow" (1934), "The Glory Of Love" (1936), "Goodnight, My Love" (1937), "Don't Be That Way" (1938), "And The Angels Sing" (1939), and "Taking A Chance On Love" (1943). Goodman numerous honors and accolades included a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
