Buddy Clark (July 26, 1912 - October 1, 1949, b. Samuel Goldberg) was a hugely popular singer with a long string of hits who became famous during the late 1940s. He topped the charts with "Peg O' My Heart" (1947), "Love Somebody" (1948), and "Linda" (1947), the latter written for then six-year-old Linda Eastman (Paul McCartney's late first wife), which later also became a hit for Jan & Dean. Clark's life was tragically cut short at age 37 in a plane crash.
