Candi Staton (b. March 13, 1943) is a veteran R&B singer-songwriter who became famous beginning in the late 1960s. She topped the R&B charts in 1976 with "Young Hearts Run Free." She was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame and is a four-time Grammy Award nominee.
