ABOUT
Charles Brown (September 13, 1922 - January 21, 1999) was a highly acclaimed and influential blues singer and pianist who became famous beginning in the 1940s. His numerous hits on the R&B charts include the chart-topping "Trouble Blues" (1949) and "Black Night" (1951), and he later made a splash on the Pop/Rock charts with such holiday classics as "Merry Christmas Baby" (1964). Brown was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
