Chuch Willis (January 31, 1926 - April 10, 1958) was an R&B/rock & roll singer and songwriter who became famous during the late 1950s before his untimely death at age 32 of peritonitis. His best known songs include "C.C. Rider" (1957) and "What Am I Living For" (1958) which both topped the R&B charts. A prolific songwriter, his many works were covered by such top acts as James Brown, Derek & The Domins, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley.
