ABOUT

Cowboy Copas (July 15, 1913 - March 5, 1963, b. Lloyd Estel Copas) was a highly acclaimed and veteran country singer, songwriter, and guitarist who became famous beginning in the 1940s. He is best known for "Alabam" (1960), which topped the Country charts and became his biggest crossover success. Copas died in the same plane crash that also took the lives of country stars Patsy Cline and Hawkshaw Hawkins.
