ABOUT
Del Wood (February 22, 1920 - October 3, 1989, b. Polly Adelaide Hendricks) was a honky-tonk pianist and longtime member of the Grand Ole Opry who became famous during the early 1950s. Her best known songs include "Down Yonder" (1951) which became a Top 5 hit on both the Country and Pop charts and went gold. She appeared and performed in the 1984 movie, "Rhinestone," starring Dolly Parton and Sylvester Stallone.
