ABOUT
Derek Martin is a veteran R&B singer who first became famous during the mid 1950s as a member of The Pearls (Five Pearls) before joining The Top Notes. The latter group was the first to record "Twist & Shout," an oldies classic later popularized by The Isley Brothers and The Beatles. As a solo artist, Martin is best known for the soulful ballad, "You Better Go" (1965), featuring ethereal female background vocals throughout.
