Dick Dale (May 4, 1937 - March 16, 2019, b. Richard Monsour) was a highly acclaimed and pioneering surf rock guitarist who became famous beginning in the early 1960s. His best known songs include his blistering rock instrumental rendition of the Middle Eastern folk song, "Miserlou" (1962), featured many years later in the soundtrack to "Pulp Fiction" (1994).
