Dick Flood

Dick Flood (November 13, 1932 - January 9, 2023) was a country music singer-songwriter, entertainer, and environmentalist (aka Okefenokee Joe) who began in the mid 1950s as one half of the duo, The Country Lads, and appeared regularly on CBS' "The Jimmy Dean Show." He is best known for his Top 40 hit cover of The Browns' "The Three Bells (The Jimmy Brown Story)." In 1973, he left the music business and moved to Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia where he became a naturalist and environmentalist. He hosted and narrated the Emmy-winning documentary, "Swampwise" (1989).
