Dick Haymes (September 13, 1918 - March 28, 1980, b. Richard Benjamin Haymes) was an Argentine-born singer, songwriter, and actor, and one of the most popular male vocalists of the 1940s and early 1950s. Best known for his smash hit cover of "You'll Never Know" (1943, from the movie "Hello, Frisco, Hello"), which topped both the R&B and Pop charts and became a million-seller, his long string of hits also includes "It Can't Be Wrong" (1943), "Long Ago (And Far Away)" (1944), "I'll Buy That Dream" (1945), and "Little White Lies" (1948).
