ABOUT
Dick Hyman (b. 1927) is a jazz pianist and composer who began his decades-long career as a studio musician performing with such artists as Tony Bennett, Perry Como, and Benny Goodman and later as music director for Arthur Godfrey's TV show. Best known as a recording artist for the groundbreaking "The Minotaur" (1969), a Top 40 smash and the first Moog synthesizer hit single, other hits include his instrumental renditions of "Unforgettable" (1954), "Moritat A Theme From 'The Three Penny Opera'" (1956), and "Hi-Lili, Hi-Lo" (1956). His many other works over the years include the soundtracks to "The Purple Rose Of Cairo" (1985) and "Moonstruck" (1987).
