Dire Straits was a highly acclaimed English rock band formed in London by lead singer/guitarist Mark Knopfler that became famous during the 1980s. They are best known worldwide for the Grammy winning "Money For Nothing" (1985), featuring guest vocals by Sting. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018, and they remain among rock's all-time top selling artists.
