Eddie Lawrence (March 2, 1919 - March 25, 2014, b. Lawrence Eisler) was a monologist, actor, singer, lyricist, playwright, artist, director, and TV personality who became famous during the mid 1950s. He is best known for the hit spoken comedic cult classic, "The Old Philosopher" (1956), featuring "Beautiful Dreamer" as background music.
