The Elgins

The Elgins were a male-female R&B vocal group on the Motown label that became famous during the late 1960s. Previously known as The Downbeats, the original lineup consisted of Johnny Dawson, Robert Fleming, Cleo "Duke" Miller, Norman McLean, and lead singer Saundra Mallett Edwards. They are best known for "Heaven Must Have Sent You" (1966), written and produced by the famed Holland-Dozier-Holland team.
