Ernest Tubb (February 9, 1914 - September 6, 1984) was a country star with a great deal of crossover appeal who became famous beginning in the early 1940s. Dubbed "The Texas Troubador," he was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and a regular on the Grand Ole Opry radio show.
