Fabulous Counts

ABOUT

The Fabulous Counts (later The Counts) were an R&B/soul/funk group from Detroit, MI that achieved local acclaim as an instrumental group and as a backing ensemble for visiting solo acts before they became famous nationally during the early 1970s. They also recorded as Lunar Funk, and under that moniker had their biggest hit with the funky "Mr. Penguin-Pt. I" (1972), featuring a squacky saxophone and narration throughout.
