Johann "Hans" Holzel (February 19, 1957 - February 6, 1998), known professionally as Falco, was a highly acclaimed Austrian singer and musician who became famous during the late 1980s. He is best known for the chart-topping "Rock Me Amadeus" (1986), a raucous tribute to Mozart which made Falco the only artist in history to score a #1 hit in the U.S. with a German language song. Other hits include the Top 20 smash, "Vienna Calling" (1986). His life and career were tragically cut short at age 40 in an auto accident.
