The Fantastics

ABOUT

The Fantastics were an R&B vocal group that became famous during the early 1970s. They began in the 1950s as The Velours, a doo-wop group with had two minor hits, "Can I Come Over Tonight" (1957) and "Remember" (1958). After moving to England in the late 1960s and changing their name to The Fantastics, they scored a Top Ten hit in the U.K. in 1971 with "Something Old, Something New." They are best known in the U.S. for the introspective R&B ballad, "(Love Me) Love The Life I Lead" (1972).
