Faye Adams (b. May 22, 1923) is an R&B singer who became famous during the 1950s before retiring from the music industry in 1963. Her best known songs include "Shake A Hand" (1953), an R&B chart topper and her greatest Pop/Rock crossover success. She had two other R&B #1 hits in 1954 with "I'll Be True" and "Hurts Me To My Heart." In 1998, she was honored with a Pioneer Award by the Rhythm & Blues Foundation.
