ABOUT
Francis Craig (September 10, 1900 - November 19, 1966) was a pianist, songwriter, and Nashville-based bandleader who became famous during the late 1940s. He is best known for the self-penned pop standard, "Near You" (1947), which topped the Pop Charts and held the record for the most weeks at #1 through 2009. Other works by Craig include "Dynamite," the official fight song of Vanderbilt University.
