Frankie Yankovic (July 28, 1915 - October 14, 1998) was a bandleader and accordionist specializing in polka who became famous during the late 1940s. His best known songs include "Just Because" (1948) and "Blue Skirt Waltz" (1949), both Top 20 hits. A prolific recording artist, he was honored in 1986 with the first-ever Grammy in the Best Polka Recording category. He was not related to "Weird Al" Yankovic," although they had performed together on occasion.
