ABOUT
The Gants were a garage rock band from Greenwood, MS that became famous during the mid 1960s. The lineup consisted of Vince Montgomery (bass guitar), Johnny Sanders (guitar), Don Wood (drums), and lead singer Sid Herring (guitar). They are best known for their hit cover of Bo Diddley's "Road Runner" (1965), in which intermittent "meep-meep" noises like those of the same-named cartoon character can be heard throughout.
