George Duke

George Duke (January 12, 1946 - August 5, 2013) was a highly acclaimed and veteran jazz/rock keyboardist, singer-songwriter, and producer who became famous beginning in the late 1960s. As a solo recording artist, his best known songs include the funky "Reach for It" (1978), the soulful "Sweet Baby" (1981), and the lively "Shine On" (1982). Over his long career, Duke worked with such artists as Cannonball Adderley, Stanley Clarke, and Frank Zappa. His numerous honors and accolades include two Grammys for Best Jazz Vocal Album (2000, 2001).
