George Martin (January 3, 1926 - March 8, 2016) was a celebrated English producer, arranger, composer, conductor, and musician dubbed "the fifth Beatle" owing to his extensive involvement in the band's albums. As a recording artist, Martin is best known for "Ringo's Theme (This Boy)" (1964), an instrumental easy listening arrangement of the John Lennon-penned "This Boy" which is featured in the soundtrack to The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night." Martin's numerous honors and accolades include being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
