The Goodies were an English comedy trio consisting of Tim Brooke-Taylor (July 17, 1940 - April 12, 2020), Graeme Garden, and Bill Oddie. They created, wrote for, and performed in their own show on BBC-TV from 1970 to 1982, combining sketches and situation comedy. They are best known for "The Funky Gibbon" (1975), which became their biggest hit in the U.K., reaching the Top 5. Written by Bill Oddie, this novelty song also received considerable airplay in the U.S. on The Dr. Demento radio show and made the Billboard Hot 100.
