Gordon Jenkins (May 12, 1910 - May 1, 1984) was a Grammy-winning arranger, composer, conductor, and pianist who became famous during the 1940s and 1950s. Best known as a recording artist for his smash rendition of the folk standard, "Goodnight Irene" (1950, featuring The Weavers), which topped the Pop charts and became a million-seller, other major hits include "Maybe You'll Be There" (1948), "Again" (1949), "Don't Cry Joe (Let Her Go, Let Her Go, Let Her Go)" (1949), and "Tzena Tzena Tzena" (1950). His many songwriting credits include such pop standards as "Goodbye," "P.S. I Love You," and "This Is All I Ask."
