Gray Gordon (May 4, 1904 - July 18, 1976, b. Jerome Rohkar) was a saxophonist and big band leader who became famous during the 1930s and 1940s during the swing era. His best known songs include the Top 20 smash, "Ferry-Boat Serenade" (1940), also made famous that year by The Andrews Sisters, as well as his signature song, "I Am An American," which was popular during World War II at war bond rallies.
