Hagood Hardy (February 26, 1937 - January 1, 1997) was a highly acclaimed and veteran American-born Canadian composer, pianist, and vibraphonist who became famous during the mid 1970s. He is best known in both the U.S. and Canada for the serene hit instrumental, "The Homecoming" (1975), as well as for his soundtracks to the "Anne Of Green Gables" and "Anne Of Avonlea" movies. Hardy was the recipient of several Juno awards and was named by Billboard magazine as instrumental artist of the year in 1976.
