The Harptones

ABOUT

The Harptones are a highly acclaimed and veteran doo-wop group originally led by tenor Willie Winfield (August 24, 1929 - July 27, 2021) that became famous during the mid 1950s. Winfield remained with the group through decades of lineup changes until his retirement in 2019. Their best known songs include their hit remake of "What Will I Tell My Heart" (1961), previously a Top 5 hit for Andy Kirk in 1937. Their recording of "Life Is But A Dream" is featured in the 1990 movie, "GoodFellas." The Harptones were inducted into The Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2002.
