Helen Forrest (April 12, 1917 - July 11, 1999, b. Helen Fogel) was a popular traditional pop/swing music singer who first made her mark beginning in the late 1930s as the "girl singer" for three of the most popular big bands of the Swing Era (Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, and Harry James). As a solo artist, her best known songs include "Time Waits For No One" (1944), "Long Ago (And Far Away)" (1944), and "I'll Buy That Dream" (1945), the latter two performed as duets with Dick Haymes.
