Hildegarde Loretta Sell (February 1, 1906 - July 29, 2005), known professionally as Hildegarde, was a highly acclaimed and veteran cabaret entertainer, singer, and pianist for silent movies who became famous as a recording artist during the late 1930s and 1940s. Best known for the bouncy "Darling, Je Vous Aime Beaucoup" (1943), other big hits include her Top 10 cover of the joyful and exuberant "June Is Bustin' Out All Over" (1945, from the Broadway musical, "Carousel"). She performed at the White House during the Truman and Eisenhower administrations and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
